The SID1152K is a Power Integrations SCALE-iDriver single-channel, galvanically isolated IGBT and MOSFET gate driver IC rated up to 1200 V with a peak output current of 5 A, in the compact eSOP-R16B surface-mount package. It sits between the 2.5 A and 8 A members of the family, offering enough gate current for medium-power modules at a lower cost than the flagship part. Reinforced galvanic isolation is provided by Power Integrations' FluxLink solid-insulator technology, so the driver needs no optocoupler and its timing is stable and free of the aging that affects optocouplers. A single unipolar insulated supply generates the stable positive and negative gate voltages, which simplifies the power architecture, and the integrated protection includes short-circuit detection with advanced soft shutdown and primary-side and secondary-side undervoltage lockout. Rail-to-rail output with temperature- and process-compensated impedance keeps the driver safe in harsh conditions. Typical applications include motor and servo drives, solar inverters, UPS, welding inverters and industrial power supplies where a medium gate current is required.
